Messi and Father Face Charges Over Tax Issues

Shortly after winning the Ballon d’Or, Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi will be having a hearing in court over tax charges.
Apparently, Lionel Messi’s father, Jorge Messi, had allegedly set up a number of shell companies abroad to avoid reporting his earnings to the Spanish authorities. Although Messi filled and appeal and his father claimed full responsibility, the court over turned the appeal and will be prosecuting the two.
The trial will take place between the Champions League Final and the start of the Copa America. It will begins three days after the UEFA Champions League final in Milan. Messi’s fans are hoping that the trial does not affect his game
